These terms cover the We Love Soho website at welovesoho.co.uk, the We Love Soho app, and any membership you take out with us. By using the website or app, creating an account, or buying a membership, you agree to these terms. They apply alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains what we do with your data.
What this covers
These terms govern your use of the website, the app, and We Love Soho memberships. If anything in here is unclear, ask us at hello@welovesoho.co.uk. We'd rather explain a clause than have you agree to something you don't follow.
About us
We Love Soho is a membership and offers platform for the Soho neighbourhood of London W1: members find and redeem offers from local Soho businesses, and businesses publish those offers. It's operated by We Love Soho Limited (company number 15895441, registered in England & Wales). Registered office: 15 Ockford Court, Ockford Road, Godalming, GU7 1RT.
Accounts and membership
When you create an account or take out a membership:
- You must be at least 16 to create a We Love Soho account. We ask for your date of birth to confirm this. If you are 16 or 17, age-restricted offers are not shown to you.
- You give us accurate details and keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Paid memberships are billed in advance and renew automatically until you cancel (see your cancellation rights below).
- Membership benefits, including the offers available, change over time as businesses join, update, or withdraw their offers.
You promise that the details you give are yours, that you're at least 16, and that you're not signing anyone else up without their permission.
Marketing emails
If you've opted in to marketing or our newsletter, you can stop at any moment. Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link, one click and you're off. You can also manage your email preferences in your account, or email privacy@welovesoho.co.uk and ask, and we'll action it promptly. Service emails about your account, payments and membership are not marketing and are sent as part of providing the service.
Paid memberships: your cancellation rights
This section applies when you buy a paid We Love Soho membership (for example a resident, staff, or Visitor Pass membership, or a paid business tier). It sets out your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Your 14-day right to cancel. Because you buy online, you normally have 14 days from the day you sign up to change your mind and cancel for a refund, without giving a reason.
Starting straight away. A membership is a digital service that begins as soon as you buy it. If you ask us to start it immediately (by ticking the box at checkout) and the service has started, you agree that you lose the 14-day right to cancel for the part of the service already provided. You will be asked to confirm this before you pay. If you have not asked us to start immediately, you keep the full 14-day right.
Cancelling future renewals. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, with no minimum term, at welovesoho.co.uk/account or by emailing hello@welovesoho.co.uk. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
How to tell us you are cancelling. You can use the cancellation tools in your account, email us, or use the model cancellation form below. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is enough to send your message before the 14-day period ends.
Model cancellation form (complete and return only if you wish to cancel):
- To: We Love Soho Limited, 15 Ockford Court, Ockford Road, Godalming, GU7 1RT. Email: hello@welovesoho.co.uk
- I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract for the supply of the following service:
- Ordered on / received on:
- Name of consumer(s):
- Address of consumer(s):
- Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper):
- Date:
Acceptable use
The website and app are here for members, businesses and people interested in We Love Soho. Please don't:
- Submit other people's personal details, or details you don't have the right to use;
- Try to overwhelm our forms with automated tools, scrape the service at scale, or attempt to reverse-engineer the back-end;
- Misuse offers or memberships (for example sharing a personal membership to obtain offers for non-members, or redeeming offers you're not entitled to);
- Use the service to defame, harass, or threaten anyone (including us or participating businesses);
- Attempt to introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with how the service runs for other people.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile and rate-limiting to spot abuse. If we have a reasonable belief you're using the service in bad faith, we may suspend or block your access, and we may close accounts that breach these terms.
Our brand and content
The "We Love Soho" name, the wordmark, the visual identity, and the writing on this site are ours (or our licensors'). You're welcome to:
- Link to the site from anywhere reasonable;
- Quote short passages with attribution (e.g. press, blogs, social);
- Take a screenshot for personal or editorial use.
You're not welcome to reuse the wordmark or branding to imply that we endorse another product or service, or to pass off a different app as We Love Soho. For press use of the brand, the easiest path is to ask: press@welovesoho.co.uk.
Photographs on this site are either licensed from third parties (e.g. Unsplash) or commissioned by us. The rights in each remain with the respective creators.
No guarantees of perfection
We provide the website and app with reasonable care and skill, but we don't promise that:
- The service will be available 24/7 without interruption (although we'll try, and we may occasionally take it down for maintenance);
- Every word will be free of typos (although we'll keep fixing them);
- A particular business or offer will always be available, since businesses join, change and withdraw their offers over time.
None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other English law that cannot be excluded.
Offers and promotions from businesses
Offers, discounts, promotions and other deals on We Love Soho are created and published by the participating businesses themselves, not by us. We Love Soho is a platform that lets businesses publish those offers and lets members find and redeem them. We do not create, endorse, verify, or guarantee any business's offer.
This means that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, We Love Soho is not responsible or liable for: the accuracy, availability, pricing, terms or conditions of any offer; a business changing, withdrawing, or declining to honour an offer; the quality, safety or legality of any goods, services, food or drink a business provides; or any dispute, loss or harm arising between a member and a business. Any agreement to provide and redeem an offer is solely between the member and the business. If something goes wrong with an offer, please contact the business in the first instance; you may also tell us at hello@welovesoho.co.uk and we will do what we reasonably can to help.
Participating businesses are responsible for ensuring their offers are accurate, lawful, honoured as described, and compliant with all applicable laws (including, where relevant, age-restricted sales such as alcohol). Businesses indemnify We Love Soho against claims arising from offers they publish.
Business accounts, subscriptions and ad credit
This section applies when you use We Love Soho as a business, in addition to the rest of these terms. If you take out a business account on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company, and "you" in this section means both you and the business.
Business plans and subscriptions. Business accounts are offered on subscription plans. Each plan sets out what it includes, for example how many offers you can publish, how many staff you can add, and which features you can use. Plans are billed in advance (monthly or annually, as shown at checkout) and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices and plan contents are those shown at welovesoho.co.uk/business at the time you subscribe; we may change plans or prices for future billing periods and will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you. Business subscriptions are a business-to-business service supplied for use in the course of your business, so the consumer 14-day cancellation right above does not apply; you can still cancel future renewals at any time, with no minimum term unless a specific offer says otherwise, and cancelling stops the next renewal while you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Staff and users on your account. Business plans let you invite staff and managers and grant them permissions (for example to publish offers, scan member cards, or view reports). You are responsible for who you invite and what they do on your account, for keeping their access appropriate to their role, and for removing access when someone leaves. You must have a lawful basis to add a staff member and should tell them their details are used to run your account.
Publishing offers and scanning cards. When you publish an offer you confirm it is accurate, lawful, and one you will honour as described, and that you will comply with all applicable laws, including age-restricted sales rules where relevant (see Offers and promotions from businesses). Card scanning is provided so you can confirm a member's card at the point of redemption; you must only scan a member's card to verify and redeem an offer they are entitled to, and you must handle any member information you see fairly and only for that purpose.
Ad credit and the advertising wallet. Some plans, promotions or purchases include or let you buy advertising credit ("ad credit"), held in an advertising wallet on your account and used to pay for promoted placements through our advertising tools. Ad credit is denominated in pounds sterling. Unless a specific promotion states otherwise: ad credit has no cash value and is not exchangeable for cash or refundable; it is spent as promoted placements run, according to the pricing and rules shown in the advertising tools at the time; it is used before any other balance where both are available; and any promotional ad credit we grant may carry an expiry date shown when it is issued. If your business account is closed or suspended for breach of these terms, unused ad credit may be forfeited. We may change how the advertising tools and pricing work, and will show the current position in the tools themselves.
Founding and introductory offers. From time to time we run introductory offers for businesses, such as a founding-member offer or a partner-association offer. Where an offer includes things like a free introductory period, a percentage discount, or an amount of ad credit, the specific terms of that offer (including any eligibility conditions, minimums, caps, cohort limits and end dates) are those shown when you take it up, and they apply in addition to this section. Introductory pricing applies for the stated period only, after which the plan renews at the standard price shown at checkout unless you cancel. We may end or change an introductory offer for new sign-ups at any time; if you have already taken it up, we will honour its stated terms.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, we do not limit our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any of your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breach, or for losses arising from offers or goods and services provided by participating businesses (see Offers and promotions from businesses). Where we are liable to you in connection with a paid membership, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for that membership in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you are a business using a business membership, the usual business-to-business limits of liability apply and you accept the service is provided for your business use.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute that we can't sort out informally goes to the courts of England & Wales. If you're a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, your local rights are preserved.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, changes in the law, or how the service works. If we make material changes that affect you, we'll give you reasonable notice (for example by email or a notice in the app) before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top shows when the current version came into force.
