These terms cover the teaser site at welovesoho.co.uk while we're building the actual product. Once the We Love Soho app launches, it'll have its own, much longer terms of service that you'll agree to when you create an account. This document is just about the teaser.
What this covers
By using this site or submitting your email to the launch list, you agree to these terms. They apply alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains what we do with the small amount of data we collect.
If anything in here is unclear, ask us — hello@welovesoho.co.uk. We'd rather explain a clause than have you sign up to something you don't follow.
About this site
This is the pre-launch teaser site for We Love Soho, a forthcoming app for the Soho neighbourhood of London W1. It's operated by We Love Soho Ltd (company number TBC, registered in England & Wales). The site exists to:
- Tell you, very briefly, what the app is for;
- Let you join a list to be notified when the app launches;
- Let Soho businesses register interest in becoming a founding venue.
It does not provide any actual app functionality. Anything that looks like a screen of the app is a representative mock-up; the finished product will look different.
Joining the launch list
When you submit the launch-list form:
- You'll receive an email asking you to confirm your address. You're only on the list once you click that link (this is called double opt-in and it protects everyone).
- We'll email you once more — when the app goes live — with details of how to get access.
- That's it, unless you specifically choose to hear more from us later.
You promise that the email address you submit is yours, that you're aged 16 or over, and that you're not signing anyone else up without their permission.
Leaving the list
You can leave at any moment. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link — one click and you're off. You can also email privacy@welovesoho.co.uk and ask, and we'll remove your address within 14 days (usually within hours).
Acceptable use
The site is here for people genuinely interested in the app. Please don't:
- Submit other people's email addresses, or addresses you don't have the right to use;
- Try to overwhelm the form with automated tools, scrape the site at scale, or attempt to reverse-engineer the back-end;
- Use the site to defame, harass, or threaten anyone (including us);
- Attempt to introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with how the site runs for other people.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile and rate-limiting to spot abuse. If we have a reasonable belief you're using the site in bad faith, we may block your access without notice.
Our brand and content
The "We Love Soho" name, the wordmark, the visual identity, and the writing on this site are ours (or our licensors'). You're welcome to:
- Link to the site from anywhere reasonable;
- Quote short passages with attribution (e.g. press, blogs, social);
- Take a screenshot for personal or editorial use.
You're not welcome to reuse the wordmark or branding to imply that we endorse another product or service, or to pass off a different app as We Love Soho. For press use of the brand, the easiest path is to ask: press@welovesoho.co.uk.
Photographs of Soho on this site are either placeholder imagery licensed from third parties (e.g. Unsplash) or, after launch, commissioned work by our photographers. The rights in each remain with the respective creators.
No guarantees of perfection
We make the teaser site available "as is." We don't promise that:
- The site will be available 24/7 without interruption (although we'll try);
- Every word will be free of typos (although we'll keep fixing them);
- The launch date stated will be the exact day the app appears (although we'll get as close as we can — building software is unpredictable).
None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer under English law.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses caused by your use of the teaser site (lost profits, loss of business opportunity, that sort of thing). For everything else, our total liability to you is capped at £100 — which is more than fair given that this is a free teaser site.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud; or anything else that can't be excluded under English law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute that we can't sort out informally goes to the courts of England & Wales. If you're a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, your local rights are preserved.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms occasionally — most obviously when the app launches and the actual terms of service take over. If we make material changes that affect existing teaser-list subscribers, we'll tell you in the next email we send (likely the launch email itself).
