These terms explain how you can earn and use rewards with We Love Soho: by inviting friends and Soho businesses, by sharing offers, through stamp cards that venues run, and through rewards that venues sponsor. They apply alongside our main Terms and our Privacy Notice. If these terms and the main Terms disagree about rewards, these terms win.

The short version Invite people who would genuinely enjoy Soho, and you can earn a reward once they join and use the app. Rewards have no cash value, show an expiry date in the app, and lapse after 12 months without any activity on your account. Stamp cards and sponsored rewards are run and paid for by the venue. No reward is ever free alcohol. Don't game it: fake or duplicate accounts and self-referrals earn nothing, and we can hold or cancel rewards that break these rules.

What this covers

These terms cover:

  • Referrals: inviting a friend to join as a member, or a Soho business to join as a venue, using your personal invite code or link;
  • Share links: sharing an offer or venue from the app, where someone joins through your link;
  • Platform rewards: rewards we give for things like referrals, visit milestones and streaks, as described in the app;
  • Venue stamp cards: simple stamp cards a participating venue chooses to run;
  • Sponsored rewards: rewards a venue chooses to fund and offer to members.

Not every part of the programme is switched on at all times, and some parts may only be available in certain memberships. The app shows what is available to you. If a part of the programme isn't shown in your app, it isn't running for you yet. This is a promotion, not a prize draw or competition: there is no element of chance, and you never need to buy anything to refer someone.

Who runs it

The rewards and referrals programme is run by We Love Soho Limited (company number 15895441, registered in England & Wales), 15 Ockford Court, Ockford Road, Godalming, GU7 1RT. Stamp cards and sponsored rewards are offered by the individual venue named on them, which is responsible for providing the reward (see Venue stamp cards and Sponsored rewards).

Who can take part

  1. You must be 16 or over and have a We Love Soho account in your own name, with accurate details.
  2. The programme is for people in the United Kingdom. Rewards are in pounds sterling (£) and are used in Soho, London.
  3. You can only have one member account. Referral rewards for inviting a business are earned by the business account that sent the invite.
  4. Some rewards are age-restricted. If a reward carries an age limit, you must meet it and may be asked for proof of age when you use it. If you are 16 or 17, age-restricted rewards are not offered to you.
  5. We may exclude anyone who has broken these terms or our main Terms.

Referrals and share links

Your code and link. Each member gets a personal invite code and link in the app. When someone opens your link, or enters your code when they join, we connect their new account to you.

Who counts. A referral only counts for someone who did not already have a We Love Soho account. They must join through your link or code within the referral window (currently 30 days from first opening your link, unless the app shows a different period).

Remembering your link, with consent. If the person you invite allows the invite-link cookie in our cookie notice, we remember your link in a first-party cookie (wls_ref) for the referral window, so they can come back later and still be connected to you. If they don't allow it, or ignore the cookie notice, we only carry your link in the page address for that one visit. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

When a member referral qualifies. A referral of a new member qualifies when your friend makes their first offer redemption at a Soho venue. We may also ask that their account is a minimum age before it qualifies (a waiting period); if one applies, it is shown in the app.

When a business referral qualifies. A referral of a Soho business qualifies once at least 30 days have passed since the venue joined through your invite, and members have redeemed at least one of its offers on We Love Soho.

Share links. When someone joins through an offer or venue you shared from the app, that can count in the same way as a referral, under the same rules.

Holding period. When a referral or other action qualifies, your reward is first shown as pending. It is normally released after a holding period of 14 days (or as shown for that reward), so we can run the checks described in Fair play and fraud. Rewards that need a closer look can stay pending for longer while a person on our team reviews them; we aim to finish a review within 30 days of the holding period ending and will tell you if it is taking longer. Venue stamp card rewards have no holding period (see Venue stamp cards).

Sharing fairly

We want invites to come from real recommendations. When you share your code or link:

  • Only send it to people you know, or post it where you are allowed to. Don't send bulk or unsolicited messages, emails or texts, and don't add people to lists without their permission.
  • If you post your link publicly (for example on social media), make it clear that you may get a reward if people join, for example with "#ad" or "I get a reward if you join". This is what the UK Advertising Codes (the CAP Code) expect.
  • Don't pretend to be We Love Soho or a venue, don't make claims about us that aren't true, and don't bid on our name or brand (such as "We Love Soho") as a keyword in paid search adverts. Sharing your link in your own posts, messages and profiles is fine.
  • Don't buy, sell or swap codes, or offer people money to use yours.

Your rewards

The reward for each action is shown in the app before you earn it. Rewards can include a percentage or fixed discount, credit towards your membership, free Visitor Pass days, free months on a business plan, or access to a feature. When a reward is released, the app shows what it is, how to use it, and when it expires. Where a reward comes with a code, the code is shown in the app.

  • Rewards have no cash value. They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred to someone else, or sold.
  • A reward can only be used once, and only in the way the app describes.
  • There may be a limit on how many times you can earn the same reward. Any limit is shown in the app.
  • If a reward can't be applied yet (for example, free Visitor Pass days when you don't have a pass, or a membership discount before you have a paid membership), we keep it in your account and apply it automatically once it can be used, up to its expiry date. If you can't reasonably use it before then, contact us and we will offer a fair alternative of similar value or extend it. We won't mark a reward as used if you haven't had the benefit.

When rewards expire

Each reward shows its expiry date in the app. A reward expires at whichever comes first:

  1. the fixed expiry date shown for it. Unless the reward says otherwise, this is 12 months (365 days) after it is released; or
  2. after 12 months with no activity on your account. Any sign-in, offer redemption or other reward activity (such as a referral, share credit, venue visit or coupon use) resets the 12-month inactivity clock, which starts from the later of the reward's release or your last activity.

We show the expiry date in the app so you can plan to use the reward. Expired rewards can't be reinstated, except where they expired because of a fault on our side or while you were waiting for us to resolve a problem with the reward. Pending rewards don't expire while they are being checked: the expiry date starts when the reward is released.

Venue stamp cards

Some venues choose to run a simple stamp card through We Love Soho. There are no points to count: the venue sets how many stamps you need and what you get, and both are shown on the card in the app.

  • You get a stamp when the venue's staff scan your membership card for a qualifying visit or offer redemption, as described on the card.
  • When your card is full, the reward appears in the app straight away, with no holding period. Show it to the venue's staff, who will give you the reward and mark it as given.
  • The stamp card is the venue's own promotion. The venue decides its rules, provides the reward and is responsible for honouring it. We provide the technology.
  • Stamps belong to that venue's card and can't be moved between venues or swapped for anything else.
  • If a venue stops its stamp card or leaves We Love Soho, a reward you have already earned stays in your app until its expiry date and the venue remains responsible for honouring it; if it won't, tell us and we will help you raise it with the venue. Stamps towards an unfinished card lapse when the card ends.

Sponsored rewards

A sponsored reward is offered and paid for by the venue named on it, not by We Love Soho. The venue is responsible for providing it as described. We check sponsored rewards before they go live, but if something goes wrong with one, please contact the venue first and tell us at hello@welovesoho.co.uk.

  • No free alcohol. We never allow alcohol to be given away as a reward, on a stamp card or as a sponsored reward.
  • Sponsored rewards may be limited in number and may end when they run out. Any limit or end date is shown in the app.
  • Age-restricted rewards are only offered to members who meet the age limit, and the venue may ask for proof of age.

Fair play and fraud

To keep the programme fair for everyone, the following earn nothing and break these terms:

  • referring yourself, including through a second account, another email address, or someone else's details;
  • creating fake, duplicate or throwaway accounts, or using automated tools to sign people up;
  • referrals between accounts that we reasonably believe belong to the same person;
  • any attempt to get a reward you are not genuinely entitled to.

How we check. We use automated checks to spot likely misuse, for example sign-ups from the same device or network as the person who referred them, or an unusual number of sign-ups in a short time. These checks never cancel a reward on their own: they hold it for a person on our team to review. The one exception is where the new account has the same email address or phone number as the person who referred it: that is treated as a self-referral and doesn't count. Our Privacy Notice explains what data we use and your rights.

What we can do. Where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, we may hold a reward for review, withhold it, cancel a pending or released reward, reverse the value of a reward that was obtained unfairly, or stop you taking part. We only do this where we have a genuine reason based on evidence, not on suspicion alone, and the step we take will be proportionate to what happened. Before we cancel or reverse a reward that has already been released to you, we will tell you why and give you at least 14 days to reply, unless the misuse is clear and serious (for example a batch of fake accounts). You can always ask us to look at a decision again by emailing hello@welovesoho.co.uk; a different person on our team will review it and we will reply within 14 days. We will not cancel genuine rewards that were earned in line with these terms, and we won't reverse a reward more than 12 months after it was released.

Changing or ending the programme

We may change the rewards on offer or the rules for earning them, or pause or end any part of the programme, only for a valid reason: to prevent misuse, to reflect changes in the law or regulator guidance, to fix an error, or because that part of the programme is no longer commercially viable. When we do:

  • we will tell you about any change that is to your disadvantage at least 30 days before it takes effect, in the app or by email, and update the "Effective" date above (we may give shorter notice only where we have to act quickly to stop fraud or to comply with the law);
  • rewards already released to you stay usable until their expiry date;
  • referrals and actions that had already qualified before the change are honoured on the rules that applied when they qualified.

If we need to stop the programme suddenly (for example because of widespread fraud), we will still honour genuine rewards already released, and genuine referrals and actions that had already qualified will still be released once their checks are complete.

Your rights

We aim to run this programme in line with the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (the CAP Code), including its rules on sales promotions, and with UK consumer protection law, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (which replaced the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute we can't sort out informally goes to the courts of England & Wales. If you're a consumer based elsewhere in the UK, your local rights are preserved.
